Jurraf independent damp surveys
Jurraf offer independent damp and water ingress assessments across Nottingham and Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

Jurraf floorboard & subfloor replacement
Taking up the original floorboards, one could see that the joists had already had a bodge job, not a good one and it suggested the issue was long standing. The joists were removed and replaced, including structural ply, prior to a tiled floor. The other portion of the room was without a damp proof membrane and had suffered with historical leaks. Installing DPM & self leveller was one of the many measures we took.

Gypsum removal & Traditional lime plastering
On the very first visit I could see a well known damp expert company applying 27 mm of gypsum over known damp walls. You should remove that i said. It was a backwards step and ideally I would have applied a three coat system and limewashed however due to time constraints for the kitchen to be fitted. Removal of the gypsum and opening of the beds and repoint followed by a heavy coat of lime with loads of horse hair offers some breathability

Jurraf Victorian tiling
Once the damp was resolved and numerous solutions were implemented, the tiled flooring completed, skirting boards ready and a Jurraf custom build unit underway. We approached designing and installing an original style Victorian tiled hearth for the wood burner before finally fitting the kitchen
