Jurraf’s intention, is not to use ‘inappropriate materials’, far from it, however, after a lifetime of working in period homes, I have come to understand to read each house as the individual house it is. Very few houses are the same. Actually many houses are very similar but the maintenance and repairs in each house are unique
Living both sides of the fence. I take pleasure in restoring original homes and working pure pre 50’s techniques. Happy to work in functioning period homes that are internally and externally repaired in modern materials. They do exist. They just better not get wet!
